TeleExpense Tracker is a personal finance tool that helps users log, organise, and review their expenses through Telegram and a connected Google Sheet. It offers features such as manual expense logging, income tracking, recurring transactions, email-based auto-tracking, receipt image reading, monthly reports, AI-powered insights, gamification, referral rewards, and subscription management.

2. Information We Collect
To provide and improve our services, we may collect the following information:

  • Telegram ID, username, display name, and Telegram-related profile information
  • Google Sheet ID and related configuration needed to update your expense tracker
  • Limited transaction-related information needed for bot features such as recurring transactions, email auto-tracking, receipt reading, AI categorisation, reports, debugging, and service reliability
  • Receipt images or transaction details submitted by you for OCR or AI processing
  • Email alias and transaction alert email data if you enable email-based auto-tracking
  • Subscription and payment metadata, such as Stripe customer ID, checkout session ID, subscription status, plan type, and expiry date
  • Referral, promo code, streak, milestone, and coin reward activity
  • Basic technical logs used for debugging, security, fraud prevention, and service reliability

3. Where Your Expense Data Is Stored
TeleExpense Tracker is designed so that your expense and income records are stored primarily in your own connected Google Sheet. We do not maintain a separate permanent copy of your complete expense history in our database.

We store only the metadata and limited transaction-related information required to operate the service, such as your Telegram ID, Google Sheet ID, subscription status, recurring transaction settings, referral activity, reward activity, bot preferences, and configuration data.

Certain temporary or limited transaction-related data may be processed or stored where necessary to provide features such as receipt reading, email-based transaction tracking, AI categorisation, monthly reports, recurring transactions, debugging, fraud prevention, or service reliability.

4. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used only to operate, maintain, and improve TeleExpense Tracker. This includes logging transactions, updating your Google Sheet, generating reports, processing subscriptions, managing referrals and rewards, detecting misuse, providing customer support, and improving bot reliability.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or unrelated purposes.

5. Email Auto-Tracking
If you enable email-based auto-tracking, transaction alert emails forwarded to your assigned TeleExpense email alias may be processed to extract transaction details such as merchant name, amount, date, card or account reference, and currency. These extracted details may be prepared for your review before being added to your tracker.

TeleExpense only processes emails sent to your assigned tracking alias for the purpose of expense tracking. You should not forward sensitive personal emails unrelated to transaction tracking.

6. Receipt Images and AI Processing
If you upload receipt images or use AI-powered features, submitted content may be processed using third-party AI services to extract transaction details, suggest categories, or generate spending summaries. We use these services only to provide bot functionality and do not use your data for unrelated purposes.

7. Data Storage & Security
User metadata required for operating TeleExpense Tracker is stored in a Supabase-managed database. Expense and income records are primarily stored in your connected Google Sheet rather than within TeleExpense's database.

Access is restricted to authorised service components used by the bot. We use reasonable security measures, including access controls, environment-based secrets, and encryption where appropriate, to protect user data.

8. Third-Party Integrations
TeleExpense relies on the following platforms to provide its services:

  • Telegram Bot API – for sending and receiving bot messages
  • Google Sheets API – for reading from and writing to your connected expense sheet
  • Supabase – for storing user metadata, preferences, subscriptions, and bot records
  • Google Cloud Platform – for hosting backend services and scheduled jobs
  • Stripe – for payment and subscription processing; card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by us
  • Postmark – for processing inbound emails used by the email auto-tracking feature
  • OpenRouter or other AI providers – for AI-powered categorisation, receipt reading, and spending insights

9. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not disclose personal data to third parties except where necessary to operate the service, comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms, prevent fraud or abuse, or protect the safety and integrity of TeleExpense Tracker.

10. User Consent
By using TeleExpense Tracker, connecting your Google Sheet, subscribing to a paid plan, uploading receipts, or enabling email auto-tracking, you acknowledge and consent to the data collection and processing practices described in this policy.

11. Data Retention
We retain user data for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain subscription records, support bot functionality, comply with legal or payment-related obligations, and prevent abuse. You may request deletion of your account and associated metadata at any time.

12. Data Deletion Requests
To request deletion of your account and associated metadata, please email us at youthmoneymojosg@gmail.com and include your Telegram ID. We will process your request within a reasonable timeframe.

13. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or request a copy of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where applicable. Please contact us for such requests.

14. Cookies & Tracking
The Telegram bot itself does not use cookies. However, our website, Stripe Checkout, analytics tools, or other third-party integrations may use cookies or similar technologies for security, payment processing, analytics, or user experience purposes.

15. Policy Updates
This policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in our features, pricing model, subscription structure, integrations, or legal requirements. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of TeleExpense Tracker means you accept the updated policy.
